Smeg Victoria range cooker in slate grey, Smeg UK

Luxury Italian cooking brand Smeg recently unveiled a new slate grey hue to its extensive collection of Victoria range cookers. Inspired by Smeg’s very first ‘Elizabeth’ cooker, launched in 1948, the Victoria cooker perfectly captures the essence of Smeg’s timeless design, thanks to its iconic 50s style branding, solid controls, and superior build.

With its nostalgic appeal and curvy look, Smeg’s Victoria cooker offers a unique timeless appeal that makes it the perfect addition to a country-inspired kitchen. Smeg is most commonly known for its use of colour but recognised customers are also keen on tonal colours – such as slate grey. The popularity of the new finish in the 110cm model invigorated Smeg to announce a roll out of this new colour finish across the wider Victoria range, including 100cm and 90cm models. Originally launched in cream and black enamel finishes, Smeg has since expanded the range to include pastels and a popular red wine finish, adding further versatility to the Victoria collection. The addition of slate grey adds a contemporary twist to this classic range cooker design.

Whether you are looking to create a centrepiece within your kitchen scheme or introduce an industrial style to your space, slate grey is a unique but extremely easy shade to work with. It adds depth to any design but ensures the space still feels cool and airy. It is also a great base colour that will suit a wide variety of kitchen schemes – slate grey is the new neutral that is here to stay. In fact, so much so that in June 2020 Smeg introduced a slate grey kettle and toaster duo to align with the demand for this colourway and has plans to make the hue officially the 9th colour of the Smeg range.

The Victoria, made in Smeg’s state-of-the-art factory in Italy, is fully programmable, features an enamel finish, metal controls, soft close oven doors and two 70 litre multi-function ovens each with Smeg’s unique Thermoseal technology. The cooker also offers an electric grill with two cooking levels plus a storage drawer. It is available with gas and induction hobs to suit a multitude of cooking needs. In this eco-conscious age, it is important to note that the Victoria cookers have an Eco function that uses a negligible amount of energy thanks to the programme’s combination of grill, bottom heating element and fan.

Smeg is the only appliance manufacturer where you can completely co-ordinate all your large appliances. The classic design of the Victoria lends itself to Smeg’s retro style such as the FAB fridges and its ever-expanding portfolio of small appliances. The Victoria model is ideal for those who have a love of detail and passion for tradition.
